Onion Rings of Power and a Spicy Sauron Dip

"The sea is always right," so use sea salt on these bad boys.

In the fires of mount doom, a couple of years ago, Jeff Bezos decided to make one onion ring to rule them all. The only problem with it, is that it’s bland, unpalatable and soggy. The onion ring was a complete flop. But, the good news is that we have at least another four series to look forward to.

What will happen next? Hmm, I wonder. What I loved most about it all was the fury of the Irish Times, who branded the portrayal of it's halflings as filthy, dirty and racist. I think this was the funniest part. I've never seen a show that insulted everyone, with such unlikable main characters and that's plot made absolutely no sense. Even the directing was bad, and as for resurrecting Lenny Henry? Maybe they thought he'd offer some comic relief.

Who knows what awful concoction is being brewed up as we sleep. I can only wait for the next instalment of this complete doom with anticipation, and possibly the collapse of the world's largest business.

I mean, if one puts statements out there such as "the biggest production costs of all time" then one better deliver that, or your going to leave a very confused public asking questions, such as "was it money laundering?" Were are not actually as dumb as you think.

While I could ramble about this show all day, I won't. The opinions and ratings of this show says it all. So fear not, here to improve your day, I have a delicious onion ring recipe to snack on while you watch the series in distain, with a spicy Sauron Dip.

Beer and Panko Fried Onion Rings

Ingredients

2 x Onions cut into rings

2 x Large Eggs

1/3 cup of milk

3/4 plain flour

Course sea salt

Black Pepper

1 Tsp of Cayenne Pepper

1 Tsp of Garlic Powder

1 Dash of beer

1 Cup Panko Bread Crumbs

Oil for frying

A little bit of extra Flour

Parsley

Method

Preheat the oil.

Cut onions into rings and discard the ends so they're an even size. Pat dry with kitchen roll.

Add eggs, milk, flour, sea salt (because the sea is always right) pepper, cayenne pepper and garlic powder into a bowl and whisk together to form a thick batter. Add a swig of beer at the end and whisk again.

In two bowls add a bit of flour, and in the other the panko bread crumbs.

Dip the onion rings in the flour, then the batter and then into the bread crumbs. Add to hot oil immediately. Fry in small batches to ensure they are thoroughly cooked.

Place onto kitchen roll when done to remove excess fat. Put on a plate and sprinkle with parsley if you want to be a dick.

Spicy Sauron Dip

Combine Sriracha sauce with some finely chopped garlic and mayonnaise.

Enjoy!
